- Enhance Trauma-Informed Behavioral Health Practices: Equip behavioral health professionals in Wayne County with effective tools and strategies to integrate trauma-informed care into their services.
- Address Trauma Through a Public Health Lens: Highlight the impact of trauma on public health and provide actionable frameworks for prevention, intervention, and community resilience building.
- Strengthen Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration in Wayne County: Foster partnerships between behavioral health, public health, and other community sectors to create unified approaches to addressing trauma in the region.

Morning Breakout Sessions Paid Session Linda Vanni – Ethics and Pain Management This workshop focuses on providing ethical clinical practices, understanding the impact if not adhered. In addition, increase knowledge about effective pain management interventions. Session 1 Audriana Buchanan- Cronk – First Step – Peaceful Families, Safe Communities This workshop focuses on the whole health impact of trauma and drug-free options to support the healing journey Session 2 Dr Kaitlyn Ryan – VA -Evidence-Based Approaches that address complex trauma This workshop will identify evidence-based approaches that will address complex trauma Session 3 Kevin Scott – Understanding Trauma Bonds: Recognizing, Understanding and Breaking Free This workshop will identify common signs and symptoms of trauma bonds, explore the types of relationships, and how to break free. Session 4 Arie Davey – Trauma Informed Programs and Practices for Schools (TIPPS)This workshop will describe a system framework for trauma-informed schools and offer a series of guiding principles and strategies that align with 10 Trauma Informed Programs and Practices in Schools (TIPPS). |

Continuing Education Information
- CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (CMHP): These event hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for CMHP staff.
- SOCIAL WORKERS: 5 continuing education credits are pending for this training.
- QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (QMHP): These event hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for QMHP staff.
- SUBSTANCE USE PROFESSIONALS: 5 Non-specific CEC hours are approved by MCBAP for substance use professionals, such as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CAADC).
- Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals(QIDP): These event hours meet the MDHHS training requirement for QIDP staff.
- TRAINING HOURS: This event will count toward the annual training hours required by most provider agencies.

Registration Fees
If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".
If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.
Cancellation Refund Policy
Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
