Information:

Data collection, also referred to as measurement, is the process of assigning numbers or units to a particular feature of objects or events (Johston & Pennypacker, 1993).  In the field of ABA, we use this type of measurement on a daily basis to make research-based and treatment decisions.  Collecting data allows variables to be looked at objectively and quantifiably, enabling us to determine functional relationships between the behaviors or skills we are trying to change, and methods used to impart this change.  The current training is intended to teach the audience the importance of data collection and analysis as well as how to effectively collect, graph, and analyze various types of data.

Course Objectives:

1.) Be Trained on the Importance of Objective Data Collection

Learners will learn the significant role data collection plays in making objective treatment decisions

2.) Be Able to Collect Data Using Various Recording Methods
