Event Description/Learning Objectives:  This case-based, interactive program is aimed at nurse practitioners, advanced practice nurses, and nurses who care for persons living with or at risk for contracting HIV/AIDS. Participants will: 1. Identify risk factors and epidemiological trends in HIV-positive older persons. 2. Discuss common drug-drug interactions which can complicate HIV treatment plans. 3. Learn how lifestyle choices may affect HIV drug regimens. 4. Discuss gender differences in the treatment of HIV disease. 5. Discuss gyn-related conditions in HIV-positive women. 6. Discuss the incidence and etiology of pain in HIV/AIDS patients and explore barriers to effective pain management. 8. Discuss treatment options for pain in HIV-positive persons. 9. Discuss common nursing responsibilities and interventions in the treatment of HIV-positive patients living with bone and mineral deficiencies. 10. Learn about HIV-related malignancies. 11. Identify effective plastic surgery options for the treatment of lipodystrophy
